Laser and Light Treatments
Laser Therapy Treatments use focused energy to regenerate and repair damaged skin.
These skin treatments offer sources of high-intensity light that is accurately focused on small spots of concern in the skin with high energy. Lasers are effective treatments for success in wrinkles, scars, and skin blemishes, blood vessels and pigmentation concerns. Laser treatments vary greatly based on the type of laser used and we can adjust your treatment to meet your specific goals and your lifestyle.
Your Greater Reno-Tahoe area Skin Cancer & Dermatology Institute Provider will review your skin concerns and medical history to determine a treatment plan that is specific to your skin care goals and desired results. We offer the following laser treatments:
AVICLEAR® – COMING SOON TO RENO – WARREN WAY LOCATION
Introducing AviClear: the first FDA-cleared laser treatment for the treatment of mild, moderate, and severe acne. Safe for every skin type and can be used on all acne severities.
AviClear targets acne at the source. This revolutionary laser treatment uses a 1726nm wavelength to selectively target and down regulate the sebaceous glands. Overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands is one of the leading causes of acne.
Unlike traditional acne treatments, AviClear has no harmful side effects, chemicals or toxins. After treatment, mild symptoms such as redness, inflammation and flareups are normal but fade quickly.
AviClear is suitable for adolescents and adult patients of all skin types, suffering from mild, moderate, and severe acne. Three quick 30-minute treatment sessions over 3 months are typically needed. AviClear features AviCool™ sapphire skin cooling and sensory controls that maintain your skin’s temperature during treatment for a more comfortable experience.
CLEAR + BRILLIANT
Clear + Brilliant is a gentle treatment that uses fractional laser technology to address and prevent the early signs of aging skin. Improves the look of fine lines and wrinkles, reduces the appearance of pores, improves skin tone and texture and overall skin appearance.
Fraxel laser treatment targets aging and sun damaged skin by creating microscopic laser columns which stimulates the body’s own healing process and replaces damaged skin with fresh, glowing, healthy skin. It can be used to treat sun-damaged skin, aging skin, wrinkles, actinic keratosis (AK), melasma, and scars. Because the laser only treats a fraction of tissue at a time, rapid healing occurs with the stimulation of new healthy cells from the inside out.
Fraxel restore delivers focused deep laser light to stimulate collagen and is a treatment of choice for fine lines, wrinkles and acne scars. This laser treatment delivers results through a series of treatments with minimal downtime making it a good choice for busy, active patients.
Fraxel REPAIR delivers results for deep wrinkling, photoaging, and acne scars by using ablative fractional resurfacing and is a good option for patients who have the ability to have some down time but are seeking powerful results.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR LASER PROCEDURE
Most laser procedures require topical numbing prior to treatment. Your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. The procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour or more, depending on the size of the treatment area and the laser used.
The amount of discomfort varies from patient to patient and depends on the depth of treatment. Very light treatments are often tolerated with no anesthetic at all. Deeper treatments may require topical and/or local anesthetic. Your physician or laser specialist will discuss options for managing any discomfort associated with the procedure.
