With decades of dermatology experience, Laurel has built her career on exceptional care, education, and helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their skin.

Laurel began her career with Skin Cancer and Dermatology Institute in its early stages as a Back Office Supervisor, where she developed a strong foundation in clinical care, leadership, and practice operations.

Her dermatologic background includes assisting in Mohs surgery, photodynamic therapy, cosmetic procedures, and wound care. She holds a Wound Care Certification and previously served as a Clinical Monitor in clinical trials, giving her valuable insight into dermatologic research and emerging treatments. She particularly enjoyed her many years performing benign skin lesion removal and building meaningful relationships with her patients.

In 2025, a change to the Nevada State Board of Nursing’s scope of practice for registered nurses meant Laurel could no longer perform a role she dearly loved. Rather than seeing this as the end of one chapter, she embraced the opportunity to pursue a goal she had carried since early adulthood. She returned to graduate school at the University of Nevada, Reno, to become a Nurse Practitioner. She is grateful to Skin Cancer and Dermatology Institute for providing the flexibility that allowed her to remain with the practice while completing her graduate education.

Laurel believes excellent medical care goes hand in hand with compassion. She understands that a skin concern or procedure can be stressful, and she strives to create a calm, reassuring environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions and expressing concerns.

Outside of work, Laurel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, traveling, attending concerts, and exploring the great outdoors. She and her family also enjoy giving back to the community by fostering orphaned kittens and puppies for the Nevada Humane Society.

For Laurel, caring for others is more than a profession—it is a privilege. She is honored to help her patients feel informed and supported in their skin health.
