Jerika grew up in South Lake Tahoe and brings a deep-rooted passion for health and equity to her work in healthcare. She began her academic journey at Lake Tahoe Community College, where she earned an Associate of Arts in Spanish. She then completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychological and Physical Health at California State University, Sacramento, graduating summa cum laude. Jerika went on to earn a Master of Science in Nursing as a Pediatric Clinical Nurse Specialist from San Francisco State University, also graduating summa cum laude, and later earned a second master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she graduated magna cum laude.

Jerika began her career as a pediatric emergency and trauma nurse at Renown Regional Medical Center, where she cared for critically ill and injured children for eight years. She then served as a family practice provider at Northern Nevada HOPES, offering comprehensive care to patients of all ages. She currently practices in dermatology, where she enjoys helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their skin.

Outside of work, Jerika enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and their two dogs. Together, they enjoy skiing, mountain biking, and kayaking—often exploring the mountains and rivers of the Sierra Nevada region.
