Brian enrolled at the University of Nevada in 2008 and has remained in the area since, working as a critical care nurse over much of the following decade. As a registered nurse, Brian specialized in the process of post-open-heart-surgery patient recovery, care, and rehabilitation. While in this role, his burgeoning knowledge of the healing process grew stronger from the support and structure of evidenced-based medicine. The dynamic nature involved in providing intensive nursing care to the acutely ill furthered his understanding of these principles; however, Brian finds that the most influential lessons he learned during this time relate to insight into the concepts of pain and suffering, as well as the human condition.

He returned to the university’s Orvis School of Nursing in 2018 to obtain his MSN and study family medicine. From the outset, he fully realized his passion for dermatology and his desire to assist those afflicted by skin-based illnesses in their quest of finding wellness. He is a board-certified family nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and joined the SCDI team in 2020.

Brian believes that developing a positive patient-provider relationship can be the basis for health promotion and improvement throughout the lifespan. He is driven by a desire to connect patients with quality treatment options and the appropriate therapies to help them feel great about their skin. He knows that he is incredibly fortunate to provide healthcare in the community of northern Nevada–a place highly impactful to his formative youth, and a place home to the best patients in the world.
