Anna Ellis, APRN

Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner

Anna Ellis was inspired to become a nurse by her mother, who is also a nurse.  She attended the University of Nevada at Reno for her bachelors’ degree in nursing. After graduating, her first job was at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Reno in the medical/surgical unit where she learned many skills that she has carried with her. She decided to transfer to the emergency department at Renown Medical Center and enjoyed the excitement and fast-paced nature of the ER.

One of Anna’s goals was to become a nurse practitioner and decided to apply to the very competitive Master of Science in Nursing/Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Nevada at Reno. She was elated to be accepted and thus start the next chapter in her career as a nurse practitioner. After graduating, her first job was in primary care at Renown Health, which has served as an excellent foundation for her as a nurse practitioner. After Renown Health, Anna spent some time at Planned Parenthood where she was able to experience the challenges of providing care to the uninsured or underinsured.

Always interested in the field of dermatology, when an opportunity to work in dermatology arose, she quickly accepted. Anna has a breadth of knowledge and experience in various disciplines in nursing. Her diverse background has helped to create the foundation for her holistic approach to patient care.
